Senior IS Leader Killed by US and Nigerian Forces

A senior Islamic State (IS) leader, Abu-Bilal al-Minuki, has reportedly been killed during a joint military operation carried out by United States and Nigerian forces in Africa. According to international reports, the operation was described as a “complex mission” targeting one of the world’s most active terrorist figures. (Reuters)

Former US President Donald Trump stated that the mission successfully eliminated the IS second-in-command globally. Nigerian authorities also confirmed the operation and praised the growing intelligence-sharing partnership between the two countries. (AP News)

Security analysts believe the death of al-Minuki could weaken Islamic State operations in West Africa, especially in regions affected by Boko Haram and ISWAP insurgencies. The operation marks another major counterterrorism effort in the region. (The Times)
